TECHO – talking to communities in the favela

TECHO is a youth led, non-profit organisation in Latin America and the Caribbean. Through the joint work of families living in extreme poverty with youth volunteers, TECHO seeks to overcome poverty in slums.

We’re working with TECHO to set up a trial deployment in the Dominican Republic – a country in a prime position to test our shelters and in which our trial can make a real difference for a number of families.

We’re very pleased to report that TECHO is currently talking to communities in the favela to assess which families may benefit first from our Hush shelters.

I’m writing to thank you and your team for all the effort that you have made to develop the Dominican Republic project, from the incredible design of the houses, the fundraising, the coordination with the DR team and the Valientes.

All this incredible work will come true in a couple of weeks. The good thing is that some of the poorest families in Latin America, those that are usually living without electricity, sewage and water, will work alongside Extremis and TECHO volunteers to have a new start, with a new house.

Just wanted to say thanks to all your team. You had been amazing!
